Dreams adozen

Trainer: Charlie Johnston

The French-bred four-year-old Kingman filly Dreams Adozen has been a star performer for Deva Racing over the past season or two and has four wins on her CV and counting. She is trained by Charlie Johnston in Middleham.

She is out of the Gr.3 Prix Penelope winner and Gr.1-placed Ferevia, and was sourced at the Arqana August Yearling Sale by Mark Johnston in August 2021. She hinted at her potential in three outings as a two-year-old but it was only when stepping up in trip at three that we got to see the full extent of her talent.

Following a series of excellent placed efforts, she opened her account in a 1m3f Hamilton maiden last August, then doubled up in a 1m6f Bath handicap the following month. She finished second on her next two starts, before winning by an astonishing 15 lengths in heavy ground at Chester. There were at least two subsequent winners in behind for all of Dreams Adozen’s wins last year, which suggests that her form is absolutely rock solid.

It has been a similar story this season, with Dreams Adozen posting a fine comeback in the 2m2½f Chester Plate, and then finishing third when dropped to 1m6f at Nottingham in early June. A fourth career win was sure to follow and so it did on the 15th of June, back at Chester, where she made much of the running to win over 1m4f on heavy ground.

Fully effective from 1m4f to 2m2f, and a winner on going ranging from good to firm to heavy, Dreams Adozen has posted 13 top three finishes in 22 career starts and has earned close to £60,000 in career prizemoney. This remarkably consistent filly is a joy to own and is sure to continue to pay her way at a decent level for the remainder of the season.
