Bungle Inthejungle ex Conversational

Deva Racing has purchased an exciting colt by Bungle Inthejungle at the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale.

Bred by Rathasker Stud in County Kildare, where Bungle Inthejungle stands, this colt is out of the talented mare Conversational, who won twice at up to 1m on the all-weather in Britain and is a half-sister to the Listed winner Kamakiri and the Gr.3-placed Road To Love.

Since having her attentions switched to breeding, Conversational has produced a total of four winners and counting, notably the Listed Rochestown Stakes third Simmy’s Copshop and the Listed National Stakes fourth Electric Ladyland.

Three of Conversational’s offspring have won as two-year-olds, with Simmy’s Copshop and Electric Ladyland both winning on their racecourse debuts. Clearly, this is a mare that imparts speed, class and precocity to her offspring, so we are unlikely to have to wait long for a return from this racy-looking colt. 

That theory is boosted by the identity of his sire, Bungle Inthejungle. Winner of the Gr.3 Molecomb Stakes and Gr.3 Cornwallis Stakes as a two-year-old, he has proven to be a superb source of high-calibre but relatively low-cost sprinters since transitioning to a stallion career. 

His best runners to date include the Gr.1 Nunthorpe Stakes winner Winter Power, the dual Gr.3 winner and Gr.1-placed Givemethebeatboys, the Gr.2 Lowther Stakes winner Living In The Past, plus fellow Gr.3 Molecomb Stakes winner and Gr.1-placed sire Rumble Inthejungle. He continues to enhance his reputation year on year, and has already proven his compatibility with Dansili-line mares (of which Conversational is one).
